Claire Bow Hat

As I was making presents this year I wanted to make a couple of hats for my teenage nieces but I couldn't find anything that was them and then my sister-in-law sent me a picture of a hat she saw at one of those big-box stores and I searched for a pattern that had a similar texture and style but couldn't find anything that came close so after many attempts and tries with a bunch of different stitches and combinations finally got the look I was trying to get. And now after cleaning up my notes and getting some great 'hooker' friends to try out the pattern for me as well. Here you have it it the Claire Bow named after one of the nieces I made the original for.

Materials:  J, I & G Hooks ~ Light Worsted Weight Yarn

Candy Corn Beanie Stitch Notes

Additional Notes:
  1. This is a picture of the join. You are joining to the top of the first hdc and not to the chain that you make at the beginning of the row
  2. Here is a picture of the Chain 1 & first hdc completed and the start of the second hdc

  3. This is the last hdc of your row, it is in the tiny spot made when you joined the 2 rows.
  4. Here is the completed white and orange sections of the infant beanie showing the side with the seam. By making the stitches as above your join is less noticeable and there isn't a gap around the join.

Gone Fishin'

After seeing a similar hat circulating on pintrest and not finding a pattern for the style I wanted of a fish hat I made an attempt at my own. I have a few tweaks to make and write out the pattern itself but I'm pretty happy with how this came out
